The Plan
As an aging non-descript building in the upcoming Pearl Brewery area, Opus Kane wanted to give the existing building a new street presence, along with new parking to make it viable in the new market. The building faced significant site restraints, access challenges, and significant structural challenges.
The Solution
Link’s solution was to reorient the front of the building to the new parking side, creating a new appealing entry to the building. To add a greater street presence Link created an iconic element to be used as the buildings signage. Various schematic studies also looked at options to add a second floor to increase the marketability of the project. As part of our design process, we used various two dimensional and three dimensional studies to convey our design. This process allowed the ownership at Opus Kane to see and understand the transformation of their building.
